Berducedo to Grandas de Salime - Breathtaking

Silent nature, solitude, fleeting company, friendly exchange, footstep after footstep, changing altitude, panoramic vistas - Today was breathtaking.

Early forest and road walking ascent.

Past farm houses and villages from centuries ago . . .
and livestock - live and well.

Towards today’s summit.

Ok that was the climb, now for downhill.

Make sure you shut the gate!
This landscape is so expansive and beautiful, I felt like putting the camera away - but I didn’t.
The path lead down the river valley . . .
to hydro electric dam wall and the lake it held.
Simply walking is today’s story - not a long one, but one that filled the senses.Sancho and I took stock in the early afternoon,
We pressed on up the hill through the shaded green . . .
along a well trodden path.
I arrived early afternoon . . .

and found the albergue and checked in.
There were a group of Camino friends ready to eat, so we went out and shared a meal..
A simple day with extraordinary scenery. The Primitivo is amazing.
