Xunqueira to Ourense - Downhill gliding

Downhill all the way today - and we arrived in time for lunch. Later start this morning. I headed off before the others. We eventually caught up and walked in together.
All quiet at the bar side tables as I walked past. Then I heard a lady call ‘Buen Camino, Mike’. She was there listening last night. A lovely way to the day.
Aches from yesterday were gone. The morning was clear, green and cool.
A shorter walking day is such a relief.
Usually roadside with gentle decline most of the time.
I rendezvoused with the others at a bar (no surprise there) around mid morning.
The scenery was varied, from ‘urban bleak’
to  glimpses of beauty. . .
Inner city metropolitan was busy.
We checked in and dropped our packs at the albergue -
and enjoyed a restaurant lunch - including a shared dish of pulpo - grilled octopus seasoned deliciously and served with potatoes and onion.
You can see the restaurateur was delighted to bid us farewell . . .
Later I played guitalele from the balcony window, some street level people waved.
Then I went and had a haircut. Yes a haircut! I met the others in the Plaza Mayor.
We had some drinks and went to dinner.
How wonderful to be eating with Spanish friends. They really know how to order.’Not pulpo again!!’
The restaurant strip was alive.
A hippie passed by, playing Celtic flute
I enjoyed the evening so much - feeling refreshed and ready for the concluding days.
