Navia to Ribadeo - deo, daylight come y the sun

The weather cleared. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief this morning and headed out.

Up the path and back to the forest - nearly three  hours later a group of us rendezvoused at a bat for ‘breakfast’.

‘You can do the Camino on a bike? That’s ridiculous, man!’

More picturesque scenes!
It was refreshing to be out again not having to look where every step landed and at every suspect branch above and tree along the path.

Out of the blue, Deb from Darwin appeared as a vignette Camino experience to acquaint us with the latest in Australian politics and culture- What! The majority said No? WTF! Her use of the Australian dialect would make  Sir Les blush - it certainly kept Camino friends intrigued 🤣

The beautiful Asturias coast reappeared - it was magical- and I held that magic while I lit a candle for family and friends.

The walk took me to the edge of Asturias and across to Galicia.

Stretches of coastline,
And open roads to the border,
The effects of recent storms were still evident - and dangerous. Live wires down and hanging just above head height!

It was time to cross over - I’m not all that keen on heights and this bridge to Ribadeo tested me.

That’s the path- yikes!

I plucked up courage to take this! I kept saying to myself ‘whatever you do, don’t drop your phone.’

Phew - after a long walk- I arrived in Galicia- wonderful.

Sunshine came softly through my window today - and thankfully it held on through a long journey on country roads.

Santiago is almost in range.
