Making it to Markina
My walk started before dawn with a head light to guide my way. It was uphill for 3 hours.
The path plateaued for a while followed by a long steep descent (which I took slowly as I didn’t want another ‘face-plant’)
I’ve decided that this surface is the best- much easier than wobbly rocks
More downhill
Reaching the outskirts of Markina- I came across a monument to San Miguel - here he is standing under three colossal boulders which naturally fell into place.
It was amaising- or is that a little corny?
I found a comfortable albergue
And walked into town to find their annual agricultural show had just been rained out. So I went to bar to eat, as there had been nowhere along the way to get anything today. It was fun
With cattle parked outside
And wonderful friendly staff inside.
Dinner and some ukulele back at the albergue was a relaxing way to end the day
You certainly have an Ear for corny jokes!
