Best coastal walk ever - Isla to Santander

We stopped for lunch- all of us - well except for the orange- he was on the menu!
This morning I slowly got into a rhythm after some ‘foot surgery’ yesterday- and the morning unfolded easily enough through dairy cattle and sheep country lanes

Hey I see a black one- 👍
Even on Sunday the churches find it hard to stay open- but the bars always are

First  I heard the coast - then I saw it

Cantabrians were mostly Republican during the Spanish Civil War - I wonder what General Franco might think of these Republican gun emplacements dotted around the countryside

How good is that! Still the Cantrabriams  have a political conscience

Beauty returned

And I wandered without GPS for a while on my way to the ferry from Somo to Santander- keeping the ocean on my right 😂

Until I made it to the dock, caught the ferry and headed across the bay to Santander

Now what! Wonderful- the hostel was just across from the dock
I  went and found dinner at a welcoming restaurant- and the couple at the next table offered me a blessing as they left - beautiful 😪

Good night 😴

  1. Oh Mike what an amazing journey you’re on. Good to see you are getting some sunshine to dry out in, your poor feet. Enjoy 😊
